Rights Beyond Border (RBB) is a registered non-profit organization (NGO) based in Mae Sot, Tak province. Founded in 2016, our work is to promote and protect the rights of children on the move in Thailand. RBB also works on the principle of bridging the gaps in human rights, equality, sustainability and contributing to positive social change.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director, the Project Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and coordination of education and child protection activities, with a specific focus on children on the move along the Thailand Myanmar border. The role includes supporting project planning, monitoring, and reporting, as well as ensuring the effective delivery of ongoing programs related to child rights in humanitarian settings. The Project Officer will also assist in project development and documentation in close collaboration with the Director. This is a full-time position based in the Mae Sot office.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the day-to-day implementation of education and child protection activities for children on the move.
  • Coordinate with local partners, communities, and authorities to ensure effective delivery of project activities.
  • Conduct field monitoring and collect data to track progress and identify emerging needs.
  • Contribute to project planning, reporting, and documentation in coordination with the Director.
  • Support capacity building activities for teachers, community volunteers, and child/youth leaders.
  • Ensure all project activities promote and uphold child rights, gender equality, and safeguarding standards.
  • Assist in developing new project ideas and proposals in response to humanitarian and protection needs.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have;

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, social work, community development, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project implementation, preferably in child protection, education, or humanitarian programs.
  • Good understanding of child rights, protection principles, and humanitarian contexts along the Thailand–Myanmar border.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic skills in monitoring, reporting, and data collection.
  • Proficiency in Thai and English (Burmese or Karen language is an advantage).
  • Computer literate (MS word, excel, PowerPoint, internet, and email). 
  • Commitment to child safeguarding, inclusion, and gender equality principles.
