This type of visa is stamped in the passport and must be used together with residence documents and endorsed each time the holder enters or leaves the kingdom. The fee for this type of visa is 1,900 baht for one entry and 3,800 Baht for multiple entries within a specified period of time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>T<\/b><b>ransit Visa;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transit visas are issued to foreigners passing through Thailand. Application procedures are the same as for tourist visas, but the period of stay and visa fees differ.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>B<\/b><b>usiness visa (non-immigrant B visa):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The non-immigrant B visa, also called the business visa in Thailand. There are two categories of the non-immigrant B visa, which are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Non-immigrant B visa (conducting business) issued to foreigners who wish to set up or conduct business in Thailand.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Non-immigrant B visa (employment) issued to foreigners who intend to work in Thailand.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foreigners can apply for either a single-entry visa (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thailand.acclime.com\/guides\/non-immigrant-b-visa\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">90 days non-immigrant visa<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) or a multiple-entry visa (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thailand.acclime.com\/guides\/non-immigrant-b-visa\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">one-year non-immigrant visa<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The single-entry visa is issued by the Thai embassy or consulate aboard or in your home country and allows a stay of 90 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The visa must be used within 90 days from the issuance date, and it grants the holder a 90-day stay inside Thailand.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Tourist Visa; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This visa type, as its name states, is issued to foreigners entering Thailand as tourists. Like the non-immigrant visa, this visa type must be obtained abroad before travelling to Thailand. Upon arrival a stay of 60 days will be granted, which may be extended by another 30 days (according to Immigration Bureau policies, citizens of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Iran, Nigeria, Togo, and Uganda are granted extensions of only 7 days).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holders of this type of visa may not apply for a work permit. Holders of tourist visas may apply to change the visa to a non-immigrant visa if they wish to work in Thailand or are afraid that they may not be granted a long term extension of stay without non-immigrant visa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Education visa (non-immigrant ED visa); <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The education visa or the non-immigrant ED visa is issued to students who wish to enter Thailand for a full-time education course, internship or other training programs.The student visa is valid for 90 days. Before the first 90 days expire, you can extend it at the Immigration Bureau for one year<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Requirements for the education visa<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The requirements for an education visa include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passport with a validity of not less than six months<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Visa application form<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passport-sized photos<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Letter of acceptance from school or academic institution<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Evidence of enrolment<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Course description<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School registration documents<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the purpose of attending a seminar, training session or internship, you will need a recommendation letter from the organization<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Where to apply?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The student visa can be applied at the Thai Embassy or consulate aboard or in your home country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are already in Thailand with a non-immigrant O visa, a tourist visa or any other type of visa, you can convert the visa to a student visa at the Immigration Office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marriage visa (non-immigrant O visa); <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The non-immigrant O visa or the marriage visa is a long-term visa issued to foreign nationals married to a Thai national.You will first need to obtain a 90-day non-immigrant O visa at the Thai Embassy or consulate outside Thailand. Once you have received the non-immigrant visa, you will need to travel to Thailand to activate the non-immigrant O visa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within 90-days of entering Thailand, the visa holder can apply for a one-year extension. Before the extension ends, you can apply to extend it for another year. When you have lived in Thailand for three years, you can apply for a Thai permanent residency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Requirements for the marriage visa<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Requirements to meet when applying for the marriage visa are:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passport with a validity of not less than six months<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Visa application<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passport-sized photo<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copy of the Thai marriage certificate<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copy of your Thai wife\u2019s identification card<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copy of your Thai wife\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thailand.acclime.com\/guides\/tabien-baan\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tabien Baan<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three-month bank statement with funds not less than THB 400,000 or a copy of your income statement showing THB 40,000 per month<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the case of a Thai husband, the foreign wife is not required to show a monthly income. However, the Thai husband must provide proof of paying Thai personal income tax.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Retirement visa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; The retirement visa is issued to foreign nationals aged 50 or above and intend to retire in Thailand. However, you cannot work in Thailand with a retirement visa.The retirement visa can be applied in Thailand or at the Thai Embassy or consulate in outside Thailand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two types of retirement visas that can be issued to foreign nationals:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One-year retirement visa (non-immigrant O-A)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Five-year retirement visa (non-immigrant O-X)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The O-A visa allows you to stay in Thailand for one year, and it can be renewed every year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The O-X visa allows a stay of five years and can be renewed for a maximum of 10 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Retirement visa qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To apply for the retirement visa, you will need the following qualifications:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Must be 50 years old or older<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Must not have the following diseases:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leprosy<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tuberculosis<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elephantiasis<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drug addiction<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Third stage syphilis<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Does not have a criminal record in Thailand or your home country<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Overstay; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Overstaying your visa in Thailand is illegal. If you overstay for less than 90 days, you will only have to pay a fine and leave the country. The fine for overstaying is THB 500 per day and the maximum fine is THB 20,000 when overstaying for 40 days or more. However, if you overstay for more than 90 days, you will be deported and banned from visiting Thailand.
